DARE Graduation

Congratulations to our DARE Essay winner, Kyle Johnson and our 1st runner up, Austin Whetsel! The boys received a bag of DARE goodies for their excellent essays.
Darren the DARE lion was on hand at our graduation ceremony to give furry high fives and hugs to all the kids! To top off our celebration, we had a pizza picnic on the senior deck. We would like to extend a big thank you to the Macon Police Department for sending Sergeant Tim James to Tattnall to teach our kids these valuable life lessons.

Changes in Medicine at School Policy

With the onset of cold and flu season, our kids will be needing Tylenol and other such medications.  The Tattnall Square Academy student handbook states:

An Authorization for Medication Form must be completed and signed by the parent and on file in the office before any medication may be administered. If the medication dosage changes during the school year, a new form must be completed and on file. All prescription medication must be in the original container and labeled by the pharmacy. No medication from an envelope, plastic bag, etc., will be given. All non-prescription medications must be in the original container and be accompanied by an Authorization for Medication Form or a written request signed by the parent/legal guardian.

This means that if you child needs something as simple as Tylenol or Advil, you must send it from home in the original bottle, labeled with your child's name and dosage, along with a note to the school. We will send this to Mrs. Hayslip's office, and she will administer the medication.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.

What A Great Day!

The 5th graders had a wonderful day visiting with grandparents and special friends during Grandparents' Day on Friday!  Thank you to all who made the special effort to come and support our young people!

Next week will be a short one, with Monday and Tuesday being holidays for students.  Please remember that Wednesday, our first day back, will be a Chapel day.  Come dressed appropriately!  Friday is our first field trip - Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament.  We are getting excited about our venture!  We hope everyone has a safe and happy long weekend, and comes back on Wednesday ready to continue learning!
