Halloween Celebration

All TSA elementary students are invited to dress up on Monday, October 31, 2011.  Students may wear a costume of their choice, provided it is not gory, scary, or witch-crafty!  Book characters are always encouraged.  We will have a parade of costumes through the middle and high school at 1:00, and our party will begin around 1:45. (Emails will soon be arriving concerning our party! Be looking for them!)  If a child does not participate, he/she will need to wear a school uniform.  It's going to be a fun day at TSA!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Our fifth graders are about to begin reading the beloved American fairy tale, The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum.  There will be some at home reading that will need to be done each night. Never fear, there is an awesome web site that will read the story to the children. This is not cheating, in fact, it is a good practice to read along with a fluent reader, and let's face it, most of us love to be read to. http://www.podiobooks.com/title/the-wonderful-wizard-of-oz is the address for the site. I have found that you need to be able to play MP3's on your computer in order to listen to this podcast, so some families that do not have this capability on your computers may have difficulty using it. I hope you all enjoy our journey to Oz.
