Many of our 5th graders brought in magazine sales and post card booklets today. Bravo!! All those who turned in sales or booklets today will go to the PRIZE ROOM on Friday. Remember you will have more opportunities to turn in your sales either manually or directly through the computer. If each 5th grader sells just one subscription, we could really help our school raise money!
 If you are having a difficult time thinking of someone who could use a subscription, we have an answer for you! You could donate a subscription to our school library or even your child's classroom!  Here are some great magazine suggestions that 5th graders love:

American Girl, KiKi,  Shine Brightly, Boys Life, Muse, National Geographic Kids, Owl, Cobblestone, Calliope, and Kids Discover

Our other turn-in dates are Sept. 5th and Sept. 12th.  Keep selling!

D.A.R.E. Arrives at TSA

The 5th grade started our D.A.R.E classes with Sargent Tim James today! We are looking forward to the next 10 weeks of learning about this important program from our very own Macon police officer.  He will provide instruction, answer questions, and equip our 5th graders with all of the skills they will need to stay drug free!

Fifth Grade News - Hot off the Presses!

Spirit Day

Friday, Aug. 24th, is our first Spirit Day for TSA.  On days announced in advance as Spirit Day, students may enjoy a more relaxed dress code to give them an opportunity to show their school spirit. For all grades K3-12, boys may wear solid khaki or navy pants or shorts, or jeans without holes or frayed edges on any part , and a TSA or church/Christian related shirt may also be worn. Girls may wear pants, skorts, shorts, skirts, and jumpers of either solid khaki, navy, or approved Lands End plaid, or jeans without holes or frayed edges on any part, and a TSA or church/Christian related shirt. Dress code for shoes remains the same as other days. Students may also wear appropriate dress as on regular school days if desired.

Fabulous Fall Fundraiser (FFF)

Tuesday, Aug. 21st, our school will kick-off our annual fund raiser.  The students will be receiving their packets today in Monday folders.  Here's the scoop!...

Calling all PENGUINS!!! This year during the magazine sale we once again have a NEW 

collectible prize, a penguin.  The penguin will be worn on a lanyard given to the children 

when they are earned. So, how can the kids earn Penguins?

-         They will receive 1 SPECIAL PENGUIN for every postcard booklet turned in

only on Wednesday, August 29th, 2012 (1^st turn in day).  They will also receive a Penguin for

sending 10 emails through the QSP site.

-         For every magazines turned in, they will receive 1 PENGUIN per prize level.

For example, if they turn in 8 magazines they will receive 4 PENGUINS.

  

For every 2 magazine sales ONLINE your child will have a chance to win a FREE MONTH'S TUITION (up to $500).

THE FIRST TURN IN DAY IS AUGUST 29, 2012!  TURN IN YOUR MAGAZINE ORDERS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE FOR THE BIG PRIZES!  LET'S GO, FIFTH GRADE!

Field Trip Handbook Now Online!

We have several fun field trips planned for our students.  It is very important for anyone interested in chaperoning on these trips to PLEASE read the Field Trip Handbook located on TSA's website under Campus Life/Forms and Publications link.  The requirements for chaperones are quite extensive.  We need to have committed parents in order to have any field trips.  If you are willing to chaperone, please email your homeroom teacher so that we can begin to plan our excursions. We want to thank you in advance for those of you who will make this commitment so that our children can enjoy these learning experiences away from school!

Great First Day!

What a great start to an awesome 5th grade year! We had a productive and fun day, and we look forward to a full day of learning tomorrow.  Remember that we do have Chapel tomorrow, so be sure to come to school in appropriate Chapel dress (blue, yellow, or white shirt).  Also, the Finance Office will have  a table set up along the fence of the pre-school playground tomorrow during morning drop off, if you would like to take care of your $75.00 activity fee and/or lunchroom accounts.
