Changes in Medicine at School Policy

With the onset of cold and flu season, our kids will be needing Tylenol and other such medications.  The Tattnall Square Academy student handbook states:

An Authorization for Medication Form must be completed and signed by the parent and on file in the office before any medication may be administered. If the medication dosage changes during the school year, a new form must be completed and on file. All prescription medication must be in the original container and labeled by the pharmacy. No medication from an envelope, plastic bag, etc., will be given. All non-prescription medications must be in the original container and be accompanied by an Authorization for Medication Form or a written request signed by the parent/legal guardian.

This means that if you child needs something as simple as Tylenol or Advil, you must send it from home in the original bottle, labeled with your child's name and dosage, along with a note to the school. We will send this to Mrs. Hayslip's office, and she will administer the medication.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.
